IRON  RIVER - The Iron County Audubon meeting will be held on Monday Sept. 11 at the Iron County Museum at 7 pm.
There will be a presentation about the history of iron ore mining in Iron County from the discovery of iron ore until the end of mining operations in the area. This will be accompanied with pictures of underground operations in two of the local mines, giving the audience a sense of the dangerous conditions, what lies beneath the surface of our communities, and some of the impacts to the community from the result of the long history of mining in our area.
Refreshments will be provided after the program and the public is welcome to attend.
