CRYSTAL FALLS - There are plenty of events happening at the Crystal Falls District Community Library in November:
• Escape Room with Anthony, on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. Forest Park Senior Student Anthony Kurtz has a passion for planning escape rooms, and he will be hosting his first one for the library that evening. Bring your thinking cap and detective skills and prepare to have fun. There will be refreshments after the adventure. Please call or email the library to register 906-875-3344 / egathu@crystalfallslibrary.org.
• Learn about Investing with Bonds with Ryan O’Grady, on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 5:30 p.m. Ryan O’Grady, an Edward Jones Financial Advisor, will be here to teach you about bond characteristics and features, the relationship between interest rates and bond prices, tax advantages of municipal bonds, and how bonds may help you weather fluctuating markets. “Owning investments that may provide you with a regular income stream can be a smart decision. That is why it is a good idea to learn how fixed-income investments, such as bonds, may help you to reach your financial goals,” states Ryan. All are welcome to join, and refreshments will be served.
• Veteran’s Day Story Hour, on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 10 a.m., Bring your little ones to the library to listen to some veteran and military themed picture books. Then Adrienne Doerr, from the Crystal Falls VFW Auxiliary will make a Veterans Day craft with the children. Juice boxes and snacks will be served.
• Buck Fest Story Hour, on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. The Crystal Falls Business Association will be having its annual Buck Fest, and as part of that little ones can come to the library to listen to some books about deer and hunting. Then, for a craft the children will make Native American Deer Medallions. Juice boxes and snacks will be served. Children who attend will also get a deer or hunting book to add to their home library.
• Thanksgiving Day Story Hour, on Monday, Nov. 20 at 1 p.m. As Forest Park has a half day on the Nov. 20, we will then proceed with our Thanksgiving Story Hour. Children will get to hear lots of Thanksgiving Day stories, and then we will be making Mayflower centerpieces that can be used for their holiday dinners on Thursday. Juice boxes and snacks will be served. All children who attend will get a Thanksgiving book to add to their home library.
