To the editor:
Every morning I look out my kitchen window to see the flag at the “Dukes” in Caspian. I’m merely checking to see if its windy.

Then one day I noticed that the flag was becoming tattered. It became worse with each windy day. I mentioned the fact to two people, but nothing changed.

I wanted to stand at the base of that flagpole and recite the “Pledge”. This tattered flag was representative
of the state of our nation “for which it stands”. Then I spoke to one more person who committed to doing something about it. The flag came down! I mourned its loss because I saw it was a harbinger for the direction of this nation in its rapid downward
spiral.

Days later, a new flag was raised. It was then, I said the “Pledge” with its phrase “one nation under God”.

Scripture says: “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord”. Psalm 33:12.

God has systematically been removed. Next comes the flag? Both will be replaced.

I ask: “But with what?”
