Faccin of CF earns doctorate in optometry

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Emily Faccin of Crystal Falls was among 131 students recently awarded a Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. 

Faccin received the Alicia A. Groce Scholarship in neuro-rehabilitation, which recognizes a graduate who demonstrated excellence in pediatrics and vision therapy. 

Faccin is the daughter of Catherine and John Faccin, and a graduate of Forest Park High School. She went on to earn a degree in neuroscience from Michigan State University. 

Graduates of SCO’s Class of 2024 hail from a total of 31 states. Optometrists are independent, primary health care providers who specialize in the examination, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases/disorders of the visual system, the eye and associated structures, as well as the diagnosis of related systemic conditions.
