CASPIAN — Katherine A. Bortolameolli, age 87, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, Wis.

She was born on July 26, 1932, in Iron River, the daughter of the late Emil and Teresa (Rock) Rosseau. She attended the Iron River

schools, graduating with the class of 1950.

Katherine married Eugene Bortolameolli on Aug. 5, 1961, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River. The couple made their home in Caspian and celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary in 1984. Eugene preceded her in death on May 17, 1985.

She held multiple jobs upon her spouse’s passing in order to continue to provide for their family. Her job that she took the most pride in was being a manager of the Iron River Senior Center for over 10 years. Katherine was a member of St. Cecilia and St. Agnes Catholic Church, the Italian Ladies Society, the Red Hats, Lady’s Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, sat on the Senior Council for the Senior Center, and many more community organizations throughout her children’s lives and hers. She was very involved and supported her community

Katherine enjoyed crafting, sewing, crocheting, knitting and working puzzles. She was an avid Detroit Lions, Tigers and Red Wings fan. Katherine loved Bon Jovi and attended multiple concerts with her final concert at the age of 80. She also enjoyed going out to eat with her friends, playing on her iPad, as well as coloring. She treasured spending time with her family, friends and grandpets.

Katherine is survived by her sons, Gene (Nancy) Bortolameolli of Appleton and Joseph (Sharon) Bortolameolli of Auburn, N.H.; daughter, Teresa (Graig) Passamani of Dexter; brother, William (Diana) Rosseau of Denver, Colo.; sister-in-law, Anne Rosseau of Iron River; grandchildren, Jaena, Drake, Joshua, Andrew, Matthew, Tyler, Taylor and Alexis, great-grandchildren, Violet and Emmett; many nieces, nephews, extended family; and close friends, Marilyn Callovi and Lois Goodman.

She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Matthew Passamani; brothers, Howard and Oliver Rosseau; and sister-inlaw, Virginia Rosseau.

Visitation was held at Jacobs Funeral home.

Funeral service was held at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Caspian with Rev. Gregory Veneklase offering the Mass of Christian Burial.

Interment was in Stambaugh Cemetery.
