IRON RIVER — Larraine “Laura” Brickman, 80, passed away on March 19, 2020, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility.

Larraine was born on May 13, 1939, in Mellen, Wis., daughter of the late Steve and Clara (Tafelski) Tart. She grew up and attended school in Mellen. She was united in marriage to Benny L. Brickman on Sept. 27, 1958, in Mellen. They lived in the area for many years and raised their family in Iron County.

She was a proud homemaker and mother to five children. Larraine was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and the Altar Guild of the church. After her faith, her greatest joy was her role as matriarch of the family and caring for her children and grandchildren. Larraine also enjoyed playing cards, reading, helping people and sharing the bounty of her gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benny on Oct. 23, 2017; her daughter, Batina Brickman; and son, Mark Brickman.

Larraine is survived by her daughter, Sharon Brickman (Gerald Mervar); sons, Michael Brickman and Matthew Brickman (Teresa Nordstrom); daughter-in-law, Annette Brickman-Church; sister, Bernice Baker; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Friday, June 12 at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Church in Iron River. Fr. Gregory Veneklase will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.

Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
