CRYSTAL FALLS —  Kathleen “Kay” Anna Poikonen, 86, passed away Feb. 7, 2022. George Weith

AMASA — George Weith, 68, passed away on May 10, 2022, at Marshfield Medical Center in Wisconsin after a courageous battle with cancer. A celebration of life gathering will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Meadowland Church, 4815 N. Johnsburg Road, Johnsburg, IL 60051, with a service immediately to follow at 7 p.m., with Pastor Stephen Erickson officiating. Sharon Palmer

IRON RIVER — Sharon A. Palmer, age 93, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Aspirus Iron River Hospital. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. The American Legion Reino Post #21 Ladies Auxiliary will form a Poppy Honor Guard at the visitation. Leonard Wurzer

IRON RIVER — Leonard “Jake” Wurzer, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, at the Iron River Care Center.  A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 9 a.m. at Stambaugh Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Marvin Kaski

ESCANABA — On May 3, 2022, Dr. Marvin Carl (Doc) Kaski, 87, was reunited with his beloved wife Barbara, who preceded him in death in 2012. He had been residing at Sunny View AFC in Flat Rock and died from natural causes. A celebration of Marvin’s life will be held on July 7, in Escanaba. Details will be announced by the family. IRON RIVER — Barbara Jean Bartel passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022, surrounded and loved by her family at 70 years young. A service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Iron River from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2022. Following the service, celebrate Barbara’s life with us at an open house reception from 2 to 5 p.m. at the West Iron District Library.
