Our Mission is to advance the safe and responsible use of multi-use trails for both motorized and non-motorized trail recreationists, by working towards the development, designation and interconnection of multiuse trails in the Western Upper Peninsula.

MI-TRALE was founded in June of 2001 to band together both motorized and non-motorized trail enthusiasts who valued their environment and worked to carefully develop trail opportunities in the Western Upper Peninsula for everyone to enjoy. We started with less than 100 miles of trails in the entirety of the Western U.P., and due to dedicated club members diligently working in concert with the Ottawa National Forest (ONF), the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Private Land Owners, elected State and Local officials, as well as many others, we are now responsible for maintaining over 585 miles of trails.

Our future meetings and events can be found on our website, www.mi-trale.org, under the Club Stuff tab, calendar option. The next two meetings will be Aug. 7 and Sept. 11 at the Stannard Township building located at 14927 State Highway M-28 E, Bruce Crossing at 7 p.m.

Don’t forget that August 19 and 20 is Michigan Free ORV Weekend. You and your friends are invited to ride Michigan’s 4,000 miles of off-road trails and/or state’s five scramble areas during this time.

Both Michigan residents and visitors can ride DNRdesignated routes and trails without an ORV license or permit. All other ORV rules and laws still apply, and the Recreation Passport is required where applicable.
