MICHIGAN – Pruning can be intimidating to gardeners—how much to prune, how little?  How do you prune to maintain the health and vigor of a plant and when do you make the decision to completely take it out? Gain confidence pruning your woody plants through this interactive workshop from MSU. Taught by Michigan State University Senior Horticulture Educator, Rebecca Finneran, students will have the ability to send photos for critique and advice. Live webinar recordings will be shared with participants so even if you can’t make one of the dates—the webinar will be yours to watch later.
Two dates from which to choose: March 31, 12:30 – 4:30 p.m. ET or Friday, April 7, 12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. ET.

Master the science and art of pruning.
Pruning is an important cultural practice used to maintain health, safety, vigor and appearance of woody plants. It involves both art and science – art, in shaping plants in harmony with their growth habit to enhance the landscape and science, in knowing how, when, where and why to prune for maximum benefit.
MSU Extension Sr. Horticulture Educator, Rebecca Finneran will lead the on-line Zoom workshops that are designed to help participants learn best practices for pruning and the proper equipment it takes for each job. You will be able to ask questions and interact with the instructor. Prior to the workshop you have selected, you will have the option to submit photos for discussion and analysis, as time allows.
Certified/Re-certified MSU Extension Master Gardener attendees will earn four continuing education hours.
For your convenience, this workshop is being offered on two different days. To learn more about when and how to prune, register today for the workshop that best fits your schedule.
