CRYSTAL FALLS — The lucky canoe struck again, leading Nick Baumgartner and Landon Sundelius to a canoe race victory at this year’s Bass Festival. Baumgartner, a previous canoe race winner, said that this year was even better because he was able to win the race with his son, Landon. “It was super cool,” he said. “It was his eighteenth birthday, so we got him starting out his adult life as a champion.” Baumgartner also said he borrows the same canoe from Mark Hegstrom and that’s the canoe that wins the race.
