CRYSTAL FALLS — Forest Park varsity boys basketball coach Kurt Lehmann offered his resignation to the Forest Park School Board, which accepted the resignation at the board’s meeting on April 26.
In his letter addressed to athletic director Lisa Olson, Lehmann said he was thankful for the opportunity to teach “some amazing young men the last two years.”
“I think right now it is in the best interest of my family if I focus my attention to them,” wrote Lehmann, who with his wife Kaitlin, has a young child. “I have learned so much from this group and am excited to see what the future holds for all of them.
“I believe the program is in a great spot and hope to see it excel in the coming years. Thank you again for believing in me and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for these young men.”
Lehmann was hired two years ago to replace Chris Nocerini.
Lehmann’s teams went 15-22 in his two years. The Trojans advanced to the district championship this year, falling to eventual regional champion Carney-Nadeau 61-49 in overtime.
