CRYSTAL FALLS — The Great Lakes Conference coaches recently voted for All Conference football honors, and the Forest Park Trojans received myriad accolades. The Trojans were recognized in nine positions and with only two of the nine graduating, the future should bode well for the Forest Park faithful.
Junior Kevin Giuliani was named both offensive and defensive First Team lineman, while fellow junior Matthew Showers was named First Team defensive lineman and Second Team offensive lineman. An additional Trojan joining the All Conference offensive Second Team included senior Felix Quevedo for the position of running back.
Defensively, senior Gaven Rintala was named Second Team defensive back while junior Nik Stephens was recognized for his versatility on the field and was named Second Team hybrid.
The kicking game was all Forest Park as freshman Dietrich Rasner was named All Conference kicker and junior Gabe Quevedo was named All Conference punter.
Freshman Grayson Sundell received an honorable mention to round out the honors.
Trojan Coach Brian Fabbri said he was “very happy for the players and team. While the accolades may be for individuals , the players are a unit on the field working together. Felix does well because he is a great athlete, but has many players blocking in front of him. Nik Stephens makes plays defensively because the line men absorb blockers in front of him. Gabe Quevedo works so hard all year punting, and the opposing coaches realize how much he means to our team.”
