IRON RIVER — The IRCC Twilight League hosted a 2-woman Ryder Cup tournament on Tuesday, June 28. Due to the severe storms, the tournament was cut short, but the ladies managed to play some of the same holes, which determined the winners as follows:
First Flight: 1. Patti Sabotta/Jillene Sabotta; 2. Chris Kennedy/Sandy Whear; 3. Pat Passamani/Pat Atanasoff; 4. Faith Peterson/Wendy Schueke.
Second Flight: 1. – 3-way tie, Marla Busakowski/Gail Passamoni, Michelle Stempihar/Debi Yoki, Ellen McCarthy/Diane Noble; 4. Joyce Myefski/Geri Sloat.
Third Flight: 1. Barb Webb/Nancy Clark; 2. Linda Agamaite/Pat Littman; 3. Pam Gasperini/Kathy Jacobs; 4. Wendy Benda/Cathy Haapala.
Following golf, a marvelous turkey dinner with all the trimmings was enjoyed by all. Thanks go out to Chef Terry Nissen, along with sous chefs Dave Frailing, Marilyn Malmquist, Dan French and Bob Busakowski for the excellent meal. Thanks also to the league board and members who helped and/or donated to the event.
It is our hope that this event becomes an annual golf event inviting all the clubs of the Upper Peninsula Ladies Golf Association (UPLGA).
