IRON RIVER — Head coach, Joseph Serbentas, of the West Iron County boys tennis team is ready to build a new team this coming season.
Despite losing 11 of the 12 starters from the championship team last year, he has his sights set on developing and improving for the entire squad.
“With very little varsity experience, the goal is to create a good base of fundamentals and finish the season with solid play,” Serbentas said. “There are going to be plenty of bumps along the way but the players are listening in the couple weeks of practices we have had.”
The team includes: Sam Holyord (11), Matthew Dutcher (11), Logan McCord (11), Colton Holm (10), Ethan Isaacson (10), Caleb Strom (10), Lane Norman (10), Blake Ferrara (9), Jackson Strom (9), Aiden Larson (9), James White (9), Nico Tarsi (9), Jackson Secord (9), Rocky Farley (9), Jonah Holmberg (9), and Zander Birmingham (9).
The managers are Brynlee Nodurft and Haiden Gill. The assistant coach is John Spelgatti.
