Wykons dominate D2 all-U.P. tennis team

IRON RIVER — As befitting a U.P. champion, the West Iron County boys tennis team dominated the Division 2 all-U.P. team, as selected by the division’s coaches.
Seven Wykons were selected to either the first team singles lineup or the first team doubles contingent, with four more were given honorable mention.
Additionally, senior No. 1 singles Nolan Anderson was named the player of the year, while Joe Serbentas was picked as coach of the year.
Joining Anderson on the first team singles lineup were senior Mitch Ballinger and senior Alex Wickstrom. The other two first-teamers were David Juul of Iron Mountain and Daniel Pasinetti of Gwinn.
    West Iron seniors Drew Hebert, Logan Horton, Lucas Isaacson and Cole Alexa were picked to the first-team doubles lineup. The other two players selected to the first team were Garrett Mann and Ryan LaFountain of Westwood.    
West Iron doubles players Lucas Shovald, Colton Holm, Andy Fredrickson and Justin Nelson were given honorable mention, as were Aaron Borrett and Dawson Dolby of Gwinn.
