Championships right around the corner, the West Iron County girls tennis team is pointed in the right direction. With two wins and a tie last week, the Wykons brought a four-match unbeaten streak into Monday’s final dual of the season at Norway. IRON RIVER — Though its early in the season, the West Iron County volleyball team needed a morale raiser after a tough start.
FP junior quarterback Payton Woollard sneaks over the goal line for the winning score in the Trojans’ wild 62-60 double overtime win over Ontonagon on Sept. 11 at Dick Mettlach Field in Crystal Falls. Woollard had a breakout game accounting for 38 points in his team’s win.
