LITITZ, Penn. — David L. Swanson was born in Stambaugh March 11, 1942. The oldest in a family of five children, Swanson grew up competing in sports and reading encyclopedias. Swanson leaves behind his wife, Linda; daughter, Ana and her husband, Michael, and their son, Oskar living in Lancaster; and son, Jonathan, who lives in Greensboro, N.C.

The journey to her eternal rest, though untimely for us, was according to the perfect will of the Good Shepherd, whom she followed with devotion. No longer in the dark and deep valley, she now resides in the greenest of pastures and near the stillest of waters in the Shepherd’s Rest. Born Nov. 28, 1936, Dorothy dedicated much of her life to the nursing profession, providing care and comfort to many throughout her career. MARQUETTE — Christine E. “Chris” Heiskanen, 74, passed away peacefully at her home Sunday, July 20, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family and under the compassionate care of U.P. Home Health and Hospice. Even during her hardest days, Chris’ face would light up at the sight or sound of her grandson, Rowan. In the final years of her life, his joy, energy and love were her greatest comfort and the truest gift she could have ever received.
