Iron County Youth Soccer kicks into gear

IRON COUNTY — The Iron County Youth Soccer League will begin it’s 21st season this spring. Dave McCord, Advisory to the Board, has been involved for much of the league’s history. 

Jace Hagglund (center) recently won the state championship for the 2022 Knights of Columbus free throw contest. Hagglund is a student at Forest Park and won the 11-year-old boys division. Also pictured in the photo are Knights of Columbus members Pat Sommers (left, Grand Knight council 3082) and Kurt Anderson (right, Dean of Students at Forest Park). The Knights of Columbus expressed its gratitude to Forest Park Schools for administering the council level of the competition. (Submitted photo)

The Knights of Columbus held its Free Throw Contest in Negaunee on March 13.  Each winner won their Council and District competition, and advanced to the Regional competition in Negaunee.

IRON RIVER — The Windsor Center is the home of Winter Bocce Ball. This year, the league season began on Jan. 10, and ended on Feb. 22. The league consisted of eight teams.
